Luxury cars stolen from airport hotel parking lot in Newark

NEWARK — A half-dozen luxury cars were swiped from an airport hotel parking lot in Newark in an early-morning heist, officials said.

In about fifteen minutes around 4:30 Thursday morning, nine sets of keys were swiped from a valet parking shed and six cars were taken from the lot of the Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott, said a Port Authority Police spokesman.

The alleged thieves made off with three BMW's, two Mercedes-Benz and one Audi, said spokesman Al Della Fave.

The valet attendant who had briefly left his post called police when he returned and noticed the cars were missing, Della Fave said.

The investigation into the whereabouts of the vehicles is ongoing, he said.
